T&T Power Group was approached by a large retirement living and healthcare provider regarding a project that was to meet the intensive healthcare standards for generator sets and offer long-term flexibility for the growth of their facilities, all while adhering to a specific project budget.
The client required the new facility to be a first of its kind to offer unparalleled amenities such as multiple 5-star dining experiences, room service/in-suite dining, beautiful lounges (often including fireplaces), bars and pubs, putting greens, sophisticated game rooms, indoor and/or outdoor pools and exercise rooms, and wellness centers.
This specific site had the long-term goals of becoming larger, however the short-term budget would not allow for much expenses associated with the future.
With an initial request of 600 kWe Standby Natural Gas and the potential of a 300 kWe increase, our engineering team went to work on a solution. We decided on the design of a 900 kWe enclosure solution that met the stringent CSA Z32 requirements and utilized 2 x 300 kWe machines for their current needs. In the future when the additional power is required, our T&T Power Group will install a third 300 kWe unit on-site, and will synchronize it to the same bus as the first two.
With the added value of redundancy, we were able to offer reliability, flexibility and cost-effectiveness with our single solution.
